I'm running Expedition to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk (using Savage Worlds, so not purely D&D, but I am running it in an Olde Skoole style). So far:

Started with one player with some extras (like 4e minions). His hirelings got slaughtered and he we had to break out the Chase rules to see if his halfling rogue got away...he did, so the campaign lives on
I did a side mission and threw some fun classics at the party - gel. cubes lurking in a magical pool, mimic portcullis, skeletons breaking out of a crypt, etc.
Random Loot
Goaded a player into thinking the pit outside the Tower of War was an illusion. In Savage Worlds, a 30' fall can be deadly - nearly killed that PC
The PCs are paying a heafty sum to the dwarves outside the tower and are rather ticked about it
In the spirit of EGG, I ran a Christmas special involving a demiplane with a familiar story. The group found a snow globe that transported them to Whoville. The Costanza Whos took the group in and allowed them to partake in their Festivus celebration. They did well at the Airing of Grievances, could not defeat Frank in the Feats of Strength, but fortunately the Grinch struck and filched the Festivus Pole. They rescued the pole and it transported them back to Greyhawk. It is a magic item for them - Airing of Grievances opens the portal to Whoville, wrestling Frank allows them to come back.
Lots of mayhem in the initial level of the dungeon so far.
