Does divine metamagic (complete divine) grant a metamagic feat when you choose it, or is it applied to a metamagic feat you already have?

As written in the book originally, it does not limit you to a feat you have.
The errata (available on the WotC site) corrects this; it applies to a Metamagic feat you already have.

It's already insanely overpowered (particularly when linked with Persistant spell). It definitely doesn't ALSO grant you the metamagic feat to use with it...that would be the "put your books away, the Cleric won...yes, I know there are no winners in D&D, but really this is an exception, someone actually won the game".

Although I don't think it's insanely overpowered if it isn't linked with Persistent Spell, I hadn't really considered that possibility before. Wow.

I definitely will run it with the errata.
