Does this make sense, (Moncton people stay out)

Freddy Beach is my home as well. Two young kids, too much time spent writing/publishing to actually play.
And that's pretty much what I've seen in the way of gamers in Freddy, and it's a shame. Either you're a student and want to play weekends (which I NEVER have off) or parents who are too busy to game. Yargh.

The only place that it doesn't make sense is on the pact-maker's end. What claim does he have to the prime material souls?

If the soul claim isn't legit, then there's no real reason why the demon lord needs the pact-maker in the first place--he can just assert ownership of the souls the same way that the pact-maker did.

If, on the other hand, the pact-maker's claim of ownership has some kind of legitimacy, then the Demon lord's actions make more sense. Plus, that claim adds another dimension to the adventure--The PCs could avert the invasion by defeating the demon lord's armies, but they could also avert it by successfully challenging the deal-maker's claim of ownership.

In both the nine hells and the abyss, souls are a source of power, its what gives them their spells and what not. There would definatly be an interest, and if one side got involved, the other side would too.

The way I would do it would be to open up a massive Gate or other permanent portal to said realm in some out of the way place in the world. Deep desert, the artic, bottom of the ocean, etc. I would establish a defensible base of operation, bring in adaquate forces, and then just wait. The chaos that would leak in natuarlly thru the portal would over time begin to alter the natural enviroment. No one would be the wiser until reports from far off lands start reporting psuedo-natural polar bears and fiendish camels.

The reason why the pact maker has the possibility of making the pact is because he has the possibility to place the third dimentional anchor.

Which goes not the equator, but in the center: the core of the world.

How's that?

---.

Oh, and it'd be cool if the world gradually descended to the abyss physically, leaving endless abysms in the sinking of parcels of land.
