Message: <blockquote data-quote="Thornir Alekeg" data-source="post: 1718892" data-attributes="member: 15651">I introduced my wife to gaming, but it was something she had been interested in before we met.  When she was a kid her brother brought home a copy of the Basic Set.  He never ended up playing it, but my wife was always curious about it.  When we met and started dating she found out I played, but was at the time between gaming groups.  Because of her own curiosity about the game she didn't have the negative reaction to gaming that is all too often encountered.  Eventually when I hooked back up with a gaming group I convinced her to try it out.  She decided she did not want to play a character that killed so I helped her create an elven Enchantress who would be a pacifist.  During our first adventure at one point the rest of the party was taken down and she was the only one left.  Forced to defend herself she killed the last creature with her dagger and found a sudden bloodlust that overtook her.  She hasn't played anything close to a pacifist since.That said, she does not have the same burning passion for gaming I do.  She thinks its a fun diversion occasionally, and only plays in one group that gets together pretty infrequently.  But because she understands the game and my love of it, she does not mind me getting another group going that will play more regularly while she watches the kids.  Eleven years this past weekend and still going strong  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f600.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":D" title="Big grin    :D"  data-smilie="8"data-shortname=":D" /></blockquote>
