Message: <blockquote data-quote="Ghostknight" data-source="post: 1634316" data-attributes="member: 15338"><p>In general - yes (but I would argue that once sentient it could be affected by mind affects- but that is up to each DMs interpretation).  However, what you propose in your backstory is the reanimation of a specific intellect from an implanted brain.  This makes it more than just a construct, but rather a means of creating a different way of resurrecting people - hey, if this were possible it would be a way of acieving immortality- create a flesh body (take care to make it beautiful instead of the normal ugly flesh golem) and transfer brain into it.  Full intellect, no diseases, aging or worries about food/water etc.  This is far preferrable to lichdom or vampirism, and no pesky downside of clerics and paladins being out to kill you for being an evil sod!</p></blockquote><p></p>
