Yeah, Doom 3 has hit the shelves and is an awesome game. I was playing it last night and thought to myself that it could make a fantastic survival horror RPG. The fact that you have health points in the game translates well into the VP/HP structure of D20. The only thing that really would need to be done would be to create stats for the various beasties in the game. I'll provide a link to a page with pictures of the new creatures so everyone can check them out. What flavor of d20 do you think would be best for Doom? I was thinking Traveller T20 might do but the Lifeblood system might make for short lived PCs. Anyone who wants to do a write up on the creatures please do so but expect it to be critiqued and tweeked.

I haven't played (or even seen) Doom 3, but for a video game in general I would think the straight d20 Modern rules would be best. Lots of HP which can be regained by picking up super-tech medical packs. And a bigger MDT. Maybe Con + level or something. Some of those critters look like they can do a LOT of damage :)

Wow just getting round to this eh? :) Back in the good ol' days of my *all* weekend Shadowrun gaming group one of the players decided to come up with some simple rules for Doom. This was back in the early days of the original Doom and LAN parties in Liverpudlian hotels (that was a trek from London!) Anyway he made some simple D6 rules up based on what he knew of the Shadowrun rules. Made a few maps (well copied from the actual game) and statted the pink demons, flaming skulls, etc... It was darn good fun! Me and about 4 others went in and he started us in different locations. He then went onto create a PvP Deathmatch varient... very cool and fast. You just brought back some good gaming memories, thanks :)

Hello.

I've been running around yahoo groups for weeks now enquiring about a Doom D20 rpg. I've found much of nothing. I've been working on one for the past two months though. I am using alot of doom 3 stuff but also what little content I can get from the previous incarnations. Also, I am culling the (terribly written) Doom novels for ideas. I've probably stole a couple megs of artwork and pics for a possible netbook for the game. I'd like to give it the feel of resident evil and doom put together. More specifically like the evil corporation feel of RE; D3 does much to expound on this in it's storyline. I have not yet played Doom3 but have read through several FAQs and guides for whatever storyline info I can get. Mostly from the emails you recieve in the game. If you would be gracious enough to write a spoiler of sorts I would be grateful as I do not forsee myself playing the game anytime soon due to money and technical issues.

Not having the game yet I could not hope to help, although I am interested in such a project. But wouldn't you need a license to do this? Seems like the best (easiest?) way to go would be to try to capture the 'feel' of Doom and use the fiends we are already given. You may have to ignore their Int scores.

It sure would be an interesting concept to port to d20, but I believe there is a game called FRAG that simulates these types of pc games for tabletop play. Nontheless I would be interested in seeing the D20 take on it.
