Double Rage; Triple Rage by now

Hi, fellow barbarian/druids out there in the wild!

What happens when a character with the Shared Fury feat [Races of the Wild, p. 152; your animal companion gains the benefits/penalties of your rage class feature = +4 Str, +4 Con, +2 Will Save, -2 AC] rages with her enraged dire badger [Monster Manual I, p. 62; +4 Str, +4 Con, -2 AC, can't voluntarily end the rage]?

Eager to read your comments.

From a strict rules perspective, I have to say they stack. They are unnamed bonuses and therefore stack. Being from the same source or not doesn't even apply, I think, because they are not magical effects (both Ex). Not only that, but from what you wrote about Shared Fury, it doesn't even say that your animal companion goes into a rage, but that it merely gets the same bonuses/penalties. So, the dire badger rages and then gets your bonuses/penalties in addition. If you had a tiger, let's say, the tiger would not be raging when you did, it would only merely get the bonuses/penalties, right? As a hypothetical example, let's say your tiger had combat expertise, it could still use it because it's not raging.

It mentions the 'companion's rage' in the text. Besides, being unable to use Combat Expertise is a penalty of Rage. ;)

Since my awakaned dire wolverine barbarian cohort cannot use its Whirling Frenzy variant Rage ability [UA] at the same time as its own Rage ability, I think it's only fair, that the Shared Fury induced Rage doesn't work together with it either!

Why can't they both use both abilities? If you pay for the ability twice, it should apply twice unless there's a good reason it shouldn't. Is it overpowered to allow both abilities to stack? I'm not sure it is.

That's how I see it. And you can benefit from the Rage spell on top of that :)
