Downloads suggestion

Is it just me or is it really difficult to find the downloads related to the magazine? Essentially, I need to search the news section to see if there is anything for a given issue.

A couple of suggestions for making downloads easier to find:

  • Put a link to the download in the section that desribes the issue (i.e. when you click on Issue #103, you not only see the description but a link for any downloads related to that issue).
  • An area just for downloads. You click on the area (just like you do to pick a certain magazine) and get a list of all the available downloads.

Thanks for listening.

Downloads?

They have downloads? I'd read about them, but never could find anything on the web site. It seems to be constructed only for selling magazines and not at all for supporting existing subscribers.

I would love to see a download section and an online index of all issues.

For that I am glad. I mean it is bad enough that subscribers get the discounted price per issue, but to have exclusive access to articles that we who buy the magazine from our FLGS (ya gotta support them, especially if "we be nice to you if you be nice to us") at full price is totally unfair.

What exactly would be unfair about that? A subscriber, while getting a discount, makes a year-long committment to the magazine.

One the other hand, materials necessary for playing the adventure should be available to all, which they are.

Just go to http://www.paizopublishing.com and click on Dungeon.
The downloads are all available in the column on the right hand
of the screen.
My suggestion is to take them out of the news section on the right and make them stand out more on their own. As a previous poster can attest, they are difficult to find; sort of hidden in the News section. If I'm looking for the downloads for say, issue 97, I'd prefer not to search through 50 news items to find it. Especially as I think this list on the right will grow.

For the record, I wasn't posing this as a subscriber v. non-subscriber thing. As far as I knew when I posted, downloads were available to anyone who buys the magazine. Just want downloads to stick out.

Mis-Typed

I did not mean "subscribers", I meant "readers."

It would be nice if downloads were in a section, organized by type and issue.

I would also like to see an online catalog. I have now over three dozen Dungeon and Dragon magazines and have read them all. I often recall seeing something in one that would be neat to use in a particular encounter only to realize that I have no idea which issue it is in. I rarely have time to go through every issue looking for something.

Even something as simple as posting the table of contents of each issue would be helpful. Something searchable would be even nicer.

The table of contents for the recent issues of both Dungeon and Dragon are posted in the descriptions of the magazine on the website. They are not searchable, but if you go to www.paizo.com/dragon and choose (for example) #311 from the dropdown "Single Issues" menu, you will see the table of contents for that issue.

Yes, but subscribers are more valuable to the magazine.

No. Readers are (combined subscribers and newsstand customers).

Besides, you subscribers already have an incentive to commit a year or more worth of issues: discounted price. Be content with that.
