No, actually the deal is: A gift subscription was put in for me for christmas. The person who gave it mailed the gift subscription about 2 weeks before Christmas. I figure, ok - it'll get in, I'll get my first issue in January. I've given gift subs before, they usually don't take too long to process. I emailed the circulation dept at Paizo, nice gentleman byt he name of Pierce Watters helpes me but says he's checked numerous times, no record of my gift sub being entered. After a bunch of emails back and forth he still can't find me but is REALLy nice and sends me issue 304. I give him all info he needs to research the situation. About 2 weeks later I haven't heard anything, so I email him again. That day I get a rather crappily handwritten post card saying a gift subscription has been given to me. I email him again, and he checks into it - the fulfillment company - even though they mailed me a postcard, still does NOT have me in their computer system to get my subscription. Pierce is once again very helpful, and finally gets me in the fulfillment company's computer system - telling me my subscription will start with 306. He also tells me he arranged with the fullfillment company for THEM to MAIL ME an issue 305 when their supply arrives, since the regular subscriptions are sent from the printer. So - I wanted to know if you got in the mail because that means that if you're getting it - the fulfillment company should have issues this week in order to send me my copy. Understandably, I have little faith in them because: - They screwed up and/or were slothly in getting the gift sub in their system (and I have to tell you it seemed as though Pierce was quite frustrated with them as well - They obviously have a pretty archaic system to begin with if they have to send me a HANDWRITTEN post card announcing my gift subscription. I want to stay on top of this, because I don't feel like the fulfillment company is giving me (or Paizo) decent customer service. I'd warn ANYONE ELSE about giving a gift sub as well. A friend of mine got a gift sub to Dragon for his birthday in August and didn't get his first issue till November. I got a gift sub for Christmas and my first issue will be March. 3 months - in my mind - is WAY too much time in between getting a gift sub and the first issue arriving. I'll just add that I gave a gift sub to my little brother of Official Playstation magazine for Christmas. I sent it in 2nd week of December. He GOT HIS FIRST ISSUE 2nd week of January. I have given gift subs of other magazines and never had this much trouble. Sorry to have hijacked this thread. Had to get that off my chest. If you're gonna give a gift sub to Dragon - make sure you leave lots of extra time. --*Rob
