Dragon 313 and the Miniature Tiles

Well. I got the latest issues of Dragon and I know a thread has aleady been discussed over the context but I must say I'm disappointed in the miniature tiles that they put in there. I think Pazio is being pretty cheap if you ask me. What happened to the card stock extras they keep braging about. If I recall, part of the price increase was so they could keep giving us the nice maps and card stock extras. These latest tiles are pretty much worthless unless you cut them out and glue them on card; and I really don't want to cut up my magazine that I paid $6.00 for! Usually when you do this they don't really look all that great! I know, because I have done this many times! It just does not turn out as well as having them already on card stock.

Come on Pazio! We're paying you more for each issue of Dragon and while I like what you have been giving us for the most part, you getting pretty cheap with the dungeon and monster tiles! I miss that quality!

I agree, Gallo. When I got my Dragon in the mail the other day, I first flipped through the pages to find and remove the tiles promised on the cover. When I couldn't find them, I assumed that my issue had accidentally gone out without them, and I'd have to call customer service. I was a little put out when I came across those pages and realized that they must be the "tiles". Feh. I'm hoping for a return to cardboard next month, but I'm not expecting it.

If that becomes the norm, it's useless. I don't know of a color photocopier in my area that could make even a slightly decent copy of the pages in question.

There is nothing cool to see HERE.

Seriously though, I was dissapointed that the tiles in the starter set didn't link up into something. There aren't enough tiles to make an entire dungeon that makes any sense which is why I use my own. It's not hard to come up with any special rules for for the e-Adventure Tiles if you have any d20 knowledge. Perhaps undead creatures can use an action to heal 5pts of damage at the pool of blood, stuff like that.

Click the link above for a page of FREE downloadable tiles. The newer ones have color and grayscale versions and can be printed out on cardstock.

Paizo

I'm disappointed in Paizo. I sent them an e-mail over a month ago about my subscription. I got no reply. I guess I will have to call them.

I actually picked up issue 312 because the cover said "Miniatures Terrain". From what I can gather, that was a typo, as the terrain appears in issue 313.

I sent a email detailing my concerns, but never got a reply. How hard can it really be to send even a template response?

I won't be buying their magazines again in the future, and will not be renewing my Dungeon subscription.
