This is a pretty good start to the "Deities & Demigods" series; its pretty much a cross between the other series detailing 4e epic level threats and the 3.5e "Core Beliefs" series. Solid background on the Dawn War and its aftermath (probably the most detailed information released so far) and a nice overview of Bane's major tenets.

From a rule standpoint, the article includes the first Channel Divinity feat and Paragon Path for an evil god, plus the stats for a pair of his aspects (Bane must outclass the Level 35 Tiamat and Vecna) and one exarch, Maglubiyet (Level 32 Solo Brute, ouch!).

As I just posted on RPG.Net, I love that "sidebar" in the middle of the fourth page explaining that most regular people worship multiple gods out of the pantheon, according to their personal interests and customs - which goes a long way to explaining why a good-hearted person might offer prayers to a god like Bane.

Wow, lots of great background info weaving together several of the core 4e gods. I love the story of Gruumsh's invasive merging of his realm with Bane's. It was mentioned in the MotP but delved into more deeply here - two thumbs up!

On the crunch side, those new monsters are nice & fun. Bane's aspects are nasty, and I like how different they both are. An encounter with two of a god's aspects, both with widely differing powers, sounds so cool. Maglubiyet is pure evil too, worthy of his solo status. Any monster that throws PCs at one another wins in my book.

That paragon path is kinda rubbish though.
