Is giving us the table of contents for an upcoming book really a good use of a Dragon article? How disappointing.

Oh well, the rest of the issue has been very good.

Oh well, the rest of the issue has been very good.

THe article is not all that bad, especialy the second half which focusses on using the delves in various situations, from once off games, through unexpected sidetreks to combining and reconfigureing them into an adventure.

I was most interested in this article to read about how to use the delves as competition between the DM and the players, as I already know how to mix and match encounters into an adventure. Unfortunately, the topic I was hoping for was skipped because it's apparently going to be in the actual book.

I think this is one of the rare cases when I would have rather seen a preview/excerpt than a new article, as I found this to be primarily a useless ad. Half the article was the author showing off his adventure improvisational skills . . . oh, and tables outlining the contents of the delve book.

I can see how this article could be useful to some people, but if D&Di were a pay-per-article model, I would advise heavily against purchasing this one.
