Dragon article: A Little Help From Your Friends

I like the article a lot, specially in contrast with the usually mechanically inclined articles.

Although it may not say nothing new to many players, I think it has the potential to enrich many campaigns. It is also noteworthy and encouraging how it promotes good communication with the DM without a (IMO abundant) tone of authoritarian player entitlement.

Looking forward to the Vecna article, should be good for both players and DMs alike.

The friends article was ok, nothing spectacular there but for certain players (like some of mine) it could help. Its not bad for those players who really don't put much, if any, thought into their backgrounds. No crunchy bits though so I'm sure plenty of people will be upset. :p

This completely reminds me of a bard I used to play that used to introduce himself thusly,

"I am Riddle of Rivenshire, friend to those who want no friends."

Neat article. I'm making a background schema for players to follow, similar to the FATE system. This article has a place right in there.

Being a D&D player with, ahem, great apprectiation for backstory (enough to incite the reaction "How long did that take?" from my fellow gamers), I was quite excited when I saw this thread.

Until I realised...

I'm not an Insider.

*Roll for advice--oops! Critical fail!*

Oh well :erm:

I hope it has a corresponding article on "Magic Items: the Other Body Parts of Vecna!"
Like the astounding Hips of Vecna?
