Nota Bene, the dragons of Dragon Earth are based on the (unreleased) dragons of the d20 SRD. Changes have been made to better fit the peculiarities of Dragon Earth dragons compared to the SRD dragons. One of these changes involves the age categories, which have been expanded so that each hit die listing gets a category of its own. The (temporary) age category listing is as follows:

Dragon Age Categories

Category

1. Wyrmling 1 (Hatchling)
2. Wyrmling 2 (Infant)
3. Wyrmling 3 (Wyrmling)
4. Very Young 1
5. Very Young 2
6. Very Young 3
7. Young 1
8. Young 2
9. Young 3
10. Juvenile 1
11. Juvenile 2
12. Juvenile 3
13. Young Adult 1
14.Young Adult 2
15.Young Adult 3
16. Adult 1
17. Adult 2
18. Adult 3
19. Mature Adult 1
20. Mature Adult 2
21. Mature Adult 3
22. Old 1
23. Old 2
24. Old 3
25.Very Old 1
26. Very Old 2
27.Very Old 3
28. Ancient 1
29. Ancient 2
30. Ancient 3
31. Wyrm 1
32. Wyrm 2
33. Wyrm 3
34. Great Wyrm 1
35. Great Wyrm 2
36. Great Wyrm 3

As you can see, the extra categories really should have names of their own. But, I could only come up with names for the first two.

I've also decided to have the different species age at their own pace. For instance, the age at which a dragon reaches the first "Adult" category depends on the species, with white dragons becoming adult at age 25, while gold dragons become adult around 40. The first three categories are the same for all dragons, after which the "pace" of maturation starts to vary according to type.

Yes, the dragons of Dragon Earth grow fast.

I've also decided to give Dragon Earth dragons a maximum life span, about 200 years for white dragons at one end, and around 800 years for blue dragons at the other. (Has something to do with lightning storms, but the blues aint talking.)

In case you're wondering, the ages for the first three age categories are:

Hatchling: Hatching (birth) to 8 months.
Infant: 8 months to 3 years.
Wyrmling: 3 to 5 years.

Now that that's done with, I present my problem. Twenty-two of the other 33 age categories need names. Number 3 in each listing will be known by that name, minus the number. It's the two previous that need re-naming. So send in your suggestions. Those names chosen earn you a thanks in Walking with Dragons and the satisfaction of knowing you helped shape a d20 product.

More coming on the dragons of Dragon Earth as time permits.
