I didn't expect this topic to fill so fast. - Whisper72 I answered most of your post already in my edit. The dragon doesn't have to use power if you don't want it to, but that is certainly a reasonable thing to do for a dragon. - Snowy Its a nice framework, but still a bit too undetailed for me. Can you explain how the dragon interacts with the merchants and how he would convince them to not simply hire some dragonslayers 8after all, acting as open as this dragon does invites trouble). Also it is not clear how the dragon gets from "raiding caravans" to "controlling the kingdom/plane". - S'mon As others have said, Dragonslayyer is not a D&D world. - Set While this might be what a dragon tells his victims you do not explain how the dragon contacts those people, nor how it protects itself from retaliation. Also I don't see how the dragon gains the, by my rules, required influence. - FickleGM Thats what I think (except that I am a bit more pessimistic than you). But I want to give other the chance to prove me wrong, so lets see with what they can come up. - GreatLemur A dragon is quite a bit different than a human. He can't, for example, walk among the city freely and normally dragons are not supposed to become nobles like humans are. You see, the abilities of a dragon to enter politics are much more limited than the one of a human. - Loincloth of Armour Imo the noble is much too submissive in your examples. Nobles don't tend to be this defenseless. And even if their manor can't withstand a dragon attack even with hired adventurers as protection (or dragonslayers) they can afford to simply move into a well defended city (not the worst idea in a monster filled world either) - Stoat For 3E you are correct. it remains to be seen how it will be in 4E (I fear not much better). Still i want to give others the chance to show me that it is doable. I will be gone for the weekend and not able to reply. Remember that I made this thread not to have a discussion about what dragon can or can't do, but to see actual examples. Read my rules in the OP and if you really want to be sure what is important to me, read the threads on the 4E board http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=216092 And remember to be detailed and specific. I don't want that you simply assume that the dragon can do something but that you explain how he does it.
