[Dragon Lords of Melnibone] Anyone fixed it?

First Post
Many things about Dragon Lords of Melnibone are broken. Sad; I would like to use it. However, I am much too lazy to go to the trouble of fixing it (plus, since I have no real Moorcock enthusiasts in my group, it might not be worth the work).

Has anyone else already tried and succeeded?

Speaking of the Dragon Lords of Melnibone books, I think it cannot be used as is. First the D&D adaptation to the world of Elric is IMO a failure. Then, the descriptions of the various lands and kingdoms is superficial and really doesn't help a DM. Finally there is the few interesting points such as summoning demons, but the latter needs be fixed (just giving more points to create the demon or whatnot). So in the end I find this book largely useless.

Now, I am preparing a Grim Tales campaign setting, and this one will be largely inspired by Elric's world, as well as Conan. But for this world I ordered Tome of Horrors II (for having different creatures), Serpent Kingdoms, and Ancient Kingdoms: Mesopotamia. I rewrite the world (copypaste from different sources is a better description) so it can be of use, I use Grim Tales rules for classes and magic, which seems much more appropriate to this setting IMO, and I just pick up some info about deities, demon summoning, and a few things like that from Dragon Lords of Melnibone. Well, that much work :heh: I will announce the seting (and its website) when it is ready (normally during september), and you may find it interesting...

Elric! D20 adaptation

I took all of my Elric! material and converted it to d20. It is relatively true to the saga but I've seasoned it with my own spices. It may not be to everybody's taste but I'm relatively happy with it.

Basically it combines elements of d20 Modern, D&D3.5, DLoM, and whatever else I had kicking around. I adapted the Chaosium Power attribute and provided characters with magic points instead of slot casting. Demons are bound through EXP expenditures (no where near as punitive as DLoM).

It has worked out pretty good so far although the alternate alignment system sort of took on a life of its own and became a ravening beast. I cut it back a bit.
