Speaking of the Dragon Lords of Melnibone books, I think it cannot be used as is. First the D&D adaptation to the world of Elric is IMO a failure. Then, the descriptions of the various lands and kingdoms is superficial and really doesn't help a DM. Finally there is the few interesting points such as summoning demons, but the latter needs be fixed (just giving more points to create the demon or whatnot). So in the end I find this book largely useless. Now, I am preparing a Grim Tales campaign setting, and this one will be largely inspired by Elric's world, as well as Conan. But for this world I ordered Tome of Horrors II (for having different creatures), Serpent Kingdoms, and Ancient Kingdoms: Mesopotamia. I rewrite the world (copypaste from different sources is a better description) so it can be of use, I use Grim Tales rules for classes and magic, which seems much more appropriate to this setting IMO, and I just pick up some info about deities, demon summoning, and a few things like that from Dragon Lords of Melnibone. Well, that much work :heh: I will announce the seting (and its website) when it is ready (normally during september), and you may find it interesting...
