Dragon Mag "barbarian playtest" confusion

First Post
I find the WoC site quite confusing about the status of "Dragon" magazine.

From what I can tell, D&D Insider is now a pay service but the barbarian playtest is free.

However, when I go to the table of contents, the Barbarian playtest is still blacked out.

Is there a secret society of gamers who have access to this playtest, or has WoC simply not posted it yet?

Why do you think that it is already closed? I can access all the articles just fine and they said it will be closed later this month (when the barbarian is already out)...

WoTC is going to start charging for DDI this month (October) but an exact date when they pull the switch has not been given.

They have said that the playtest barbarian will be available for free before then (and presumably everything that comes out prior)

The reason why Barbarian was removed from the September issue was because they felt that it was not ready yet so that's why it was moved to October (and until next week). ;)

If you go to the 'archives' section you'll see everything they have posted.

If you click the 'Home' tab on the left and then select 'Archives' you'll get there. Easy as cake.

Or try going to the archives directly via D&D Archives

Edit: OK not 'literally' everything... but the latest 50 articles have direct links.
