Wow...I had no idea it was going for that much!!! I had a guy offer me $100 for mine... glad I hung on to it.

I had no idea this has gotten so expensive, either . . . last I heard (which was a long time ago) the CDs hadn't sold very well and could be picked up dirt cheap.

I guess that's the free market for ya.

Boy, do my market predicting skills suck....

I think I'm going to just start buying EVERYTHING I ever see in the bargain bin. The stuff I've missed out that's later turned to collectible gold would easily make up for the money spent on stuff that ends up remaining worthless. :p

It's a great product.

I paid $70 for mine, back in the day. I regularly encourge people to buy it.

Would I pay $180? Ah, no. That crosses some indeterminate line of what I would and would not buy in a gaming product (call it "The Ptolus Threshold" if you will). But it's really great. You can go back and convert all the old modules to 3.5 if you're ever stumped for an adventure. The articles on DMing and PCing are every bit as valid today as they were then. And the Wormy cartoons are worth $15 by themselves.

But you know what's really cool? The really old ones when the hobby was just getting started. I am somewhat comforted to know that 30 years from now, just like 30 years ago, we'll still be arguing about Lord of the Rings movies.

Lord Grak, I have a copy I'd be willing to sell you. Please e-mail me dm_andrew.....AT....hotmail....DOT....COM
(removing all the dots and changing they AT and DOT into @ and . of course)
and we can see if we can't work something out.

And if he doesn't want to buy it from you, I'd certainly like to make you an offer!

Failing that, if anyone else has a spare copy, I'm keen to talk to you ....
