Dragon Magazine articles worth re-reading

It's not part of the pre-online Dragon & Dungeon Magazines but I highly recommend Chris Perkins' The DM Experience articles. They're chock full of excellent advice on all aspects of GMing from encounter building to creating memorable NPCs to making the story and characters the highlight of the campaign. And while it's primarily D&D oriented (obviously) most of its lessons can be used for any system. It should be essential reading for the type of games I want to play in.

+1 on The Dunegeon Master Experience articles.

I read issue #246 last night. The article A Few Good Henchmen, also by Chris Perkins, has a ton of interesting NPCs.

It's interesting to see the work of some of these guys before they became well-known. The same issue has a letter in the D Mail section by Stephen Radney-MacFarland , who currently writes the Save My Game articles.
