Ok, I don't know what EnWorld's policy is with talking of torrents and whatever. I know you all have a pdf of the current books so I'm not gonna be the one calling hypocrisy.

Anyway, how do you guys, who didn't pay that idiotic price to Wizard for a worthless subscription, get the recent issues of Dragon Magazine.

I see no reason to start paying for something I was getting for free, but I still want to get ahold of the issues because they make for a good read when I'm bored and/or need a story idea.

If this post gets locked you can reach me by whistling dixie.

Wow. Open a thread by calling an entire community liars and pirates while asking for something for nothing. How exactly did this seem like a good idea?

in!

Edit: As a media studies teacher, perhaps I can give you some advice on how to present this issue in the future... In order for copyright piracy to be remotely justified, you need to either be an artist using samples of another's work to create new cultural products in subversive ways (c.f. Negativland, certain hip-hop artists) or you need to be arguing that an industry's labor relations are SO exploitative that piracy is necessary to undermine the system (c.f. how the major recording labels' standard contract was to give artists an advance but then charged them for promotions and production of the disc, which meant that many bigger groups needed to go gold to turn a profit on the album release. In return for their generosity, the label got your copyright in perpetuity.)

Now, since nobody makes those accusations towards gaming companies in their relations with their authors and since WotC's 3e OGL was actually used by professors as one example of a less draconian treatment of intellectual property, your piracy is simply not justified under either approach.

I simply don't get hold of it. I don't pay for it in the moment, I get nothing to read in the moment. Seems fair to me. :)

Cheers, LT.
Me too, although I really would like them to hurry up and figure out their pricing scheme for full issues so I can get one now and then on RPGNow.
