This is a VERY strong issue indeed! the cover & creepy & strange & cool Ed Greenwood's shields are much needed...even if not that great, D&D has always had a horrible lack of cool magical shields, and still does to this day! His attempt to begin to address that defect thus can only garner praise, as it's more than pretty much anyone else "inside" ever did. Len's Suel pantheon is cool as always; indeed more religious depth would be nice, but we are minorities in gaming; people care nada & want none of that stuff, sadly. The Sentinel has mechanical & role playing oddities to it, otherwise it might well be PC capable, in line with other dragon "npc" classes. It's ABSOLUTELY something campaign worlds/settings would all have/need. Close to too weird for the cigar of standardized use for AD&D! Still a terrific retainer/henchman though, or bodyguard/guard to vex layers a bit. Len Lakofka's xp changes/suggestions in issue 80 are far more important than Roger Moores here, but by all means, combine efforts! Namor & Tiger shark are great! Namor is underpowered a bit in the faserip game, but it's tricky how to get around that & be comic faithful info to help make mutant animals was always handy for those forays into gamma world! But the creature catalogue is the star, of course! New monsters are needed in every issue of such a magazine, IMHO, and occasional booklets of them is even better! Ed Greenwood is good at not leaving his works to languish, and he'd scoop some of other's too, but it's surprising some of the better critters got lost to time here! Ghuuna never left my games since Utukku helped inhabit Tarterus, and if they aren't so close to their ancient Mesopotamian namesakes, who could really say? Windsteeds (aka Asperi) at least are properly horse sized still here! check out all the dragon CCs, especially if you play AD&D or OSR stuff [HEADING=2][/HEADING]
