What's the relationship between Huge Ogre and Dragon Scale Counters? Are they the same company which has had a name change?

Thanks

Sort of. Technically speaking, they are two distinct business entities. Dragon Scale Counters, LLC was a business formed in June of 2001 by two best friends and their spouses to make durable plastic counters for the d20 games we all know and love. Without going into a lot of detail a lot of personal issues and life choices (I went off and got my Masters while I waited for the other half of the partnership) doomed the company, preventing them from getting enough material out the door to become self sustaining. I considered trying to buy out the partners, but the name was never very strong nor appropriate for us considering we wanted to diversify into other products in addition to the counters. In June of this year I started the official closing process for the LLC, and made arrangements to continue publishing under Huge Ogre Publishing, LLC. I assumed distribution rights for Guardians of the Underhalls (DSC's sole release) and set up trying to wrap up a lot of the projects that never come to fruition under the old business for one reason or another. ENworld's Game Store proved to be an excellent place to start this, since we just recently released the Frost Giant Noble as a Pick n Mix product. We have a few dozen other fragments like that one that I think will be suited perfectly for the medium and we hope to continue it next year and beyond.

Hope that answers your question.

Any chance you will be releasing some of the DSC counter artwork in a format similar to Fiery Dragon? I liked a lot of your artwork and it would be a complementary addition to the Counter Collection Digital. Of course, it is easier to release such products as PDF if they are solely downloadable. But I do prefer the CC Digital format because I can put together a custom sheet of counters to print out for a given evening/adventure.

I think there is a very good chance of that. What resolution to make the images, and whether to try and break it up into groups are a couple of questions we'd have to answer first. Any opinion?

Thanks! Yes, that does answer my question. I was writing a review on Guardians of the Underhalls and just wasn't sure under which publisher name to put it. It was originally under Dragon Scale Counters, but I'll try and get it up as Huge Ogre Publishing.

I would be interested in these as well, I like the plastic counters I have and I use Fiery Digital's CD all the time. Something similar to the interactive design associates electronic counter set would be great.
