Dragon: The Cross Posting

An interresting take on the dragons, although I don't agree with you completely (I'm kinda oldschool when it comes to dragons, in my campaign dragons cannot die of old age, unless they get sick or severly wounded, really old dragons are very rare however) I think you did a wonderful job at putting the dragons into perspective.

Kudos to you. :D

Thanks.

This Monday Playing with Dragons (The Director's Cut) will be posted here. Information on dragon humor, dragon diet, dragon pets, dragon treasure, and more stuff like that there. Plus, the first installment on black dragons.

However, my dragons remain mortal. Long lived, but mortal. (Though I may allow them to reincarnate, now that I think about it.)

The whole thing has been renamed Alan's Dragons with General Information now a chapter in the book. I'll be looking into making General Information and the Black Dragon chapters available via RGPnow, to be followed by the rest of the dragons as they get done. Each chapter will be available as a separate PDF file, with a huge PDF for the whole thing. Once the chromatics and metallics are done I'll be going on to the gem dragons, then to the oriental dragons (when they get SRDed). Third party OGC dragons are even further down the road.

Further yet down the road is my version of psychic abilities. I'll be treating psionics as supernatural abilities, with combat psionics better integrated into the d20 combat system. But the details can wait for later. Fret not, a green dragon's list of supernatural abilities specific to the species will grow.:)

Interresting, I will keep a lookout for those PDF's.

Regarding dragons and mortality, the dragons in my campaign are very mortal, they just don't die of old age :p But then again, they also have quite a high attrition rate, and only about one in a 100 or so dragons live to reach the great wyrm stage, the rest falling prey to other large predators, such as other dragons, megapedes, purple worms, and the odd adventuring party... :D

Bad News

Playing with Dragons (The Director's Cut) is being delayed a week. The dang thing needs to be organized, so I'm doing an outline for it. The scheme will be:

Title

Introduction

Chapter One: General Dragon Information, with the following sections: Description, personality and behavior, aging, combat, special abilities.

Chapter two (etc.): The black (blue, green, red, white, brass, bronze, etc.) dragon: General black (blue, green, you get the picture) dragon information, followed by information for each Age Category.

This all subject to expansion and change. So please be patient.

In all it looks like this will be a 500 page book.

Which means I really need to post something about this over on the d20 Publishers forum.

(I'm wandering again!)
