I'm more of a lurker here than poster, so I'm not one worth looking for, but... this year will be my second year attending (last year being the first). The convention is spread between two hotels connected by a walkway that is well over street level. Near the walkway is a good-sized food court. You could all decide to meet there during a non-peak food time, perhaps 2pm. This will give everyone a chance to wander a bit and explore the place. If it helped, you could determine some type of subtle identification to show you are part of the board, perhaps wear a rubberband around your right wrist. As far as the comments about what goes on at DragonCon, check out the link as mentioned (woot, Jefferson Starship is performing). You will see it is more of a fantasy/sci-fi convention than an RPG (or more important to me, a German boardgaming) conference. That said, there is a HUGE area devoted to miniatures, Magic, D&D, and boardgaming for those interested. If you do decide to take a break from role-playing and have a hunkering for something different, look for me (good luck), and I'd be more than happy to teach you all Puerto Rico, Carcassonne, Settlers of Cataan, or Dragon's Gold. And even, if after all of that, you are not convinced to go to DragonCon, Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy (from MST3K) will be there, along with Traci Lords and Lou Ferrigno.
