Dragonix's Deadly Denizens II October Art Preview #4: Keres are fiends that hunt in packs, specifically targeting the weak, wounded, and dying. They have a trait called Death's Presence. Creatures within 30 feet of the ker have disadvantage on death saving throws. Constructs, Elementals, Fiends, and Undead are immune to this effect.

Deadly Denizens Vol. II Oct 2024 Art Preview #5. October grows even darker with the addition of two more art pieces for the Shadow Creature Template: the Shadow Naga and the Shadow Harpy!

Deadly Denizens Vol. II Oct 2024 Art Preview #6. I've introduced several anomalies in Volume II, and now, here's the final one. Planning an encounter in a chaotic outer plane, a ruined wizard's tower, or near a surging magical rift? Need to balance things with players buffed with magical effects? The Arcane Anomaly should make a nice fit. It has an ability called Arcane Disruption. Here's what the statblock of the Large version says:

Arcane Disruption (Recharge 5–6). The anomaly emits arcane energy that disrupts magic. Any spell of 4th level or lower on any creature, object, or magical effect within 20 feet of the anomaly is dispelled. For each spell of 5th level or higher, the anomaly makes a Constitution ability check. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a successful check, the spell ends. For each spell dispelled, the creature, object, or magical effect with the spell takes 11 (2d10) force damage.

Deadly Denizens Vol. II Oct 2024 Art Preview #6. The grootslang, a fearsome and rapacious creature from South African mythology that resembles a monstrous fusion of dragon, elephant, and serpent, takes the final denizen slot in the October issue. Any creature that survives getting gored by its tusks must still contend with the viper head on its tail, whose venom leaves victims vulnerable to all damage as it courses through their veins.
