Solostaran's daughter, Lauranalanthalasa (Laurana) Kanan, fell in love with Tanis, and this caused life for the half-elf to be very unconfortable, as Solostaran and the other elven nobles did not approve of Tanis mixing with an elven maiden. Eventually, Tanis left the city of Qualinost with Flint, wearing a ring of golden ivy given to him by Laurana.</blockquote>
