The Mark of Death. A dead mark on Eberron, exuse the pun. Destroyed along with the House of Vol over 1500 years ago. Only one remaining living creature bears the mark, if you could call her living that is. Vol, the Half Elf Half Dragon Lich Wizard. Strangly enough, the Mark of the Dead, does not function on an unliving creature. This thread is to discuss possible adventure/story elements that we can use in our games involving the 13th mark. Some of the possiblities to involve this mark in your game follows. --Could be long lost blood relatives of the Vol be on Xen'drik? Perhaps Elves that returned to Xen'drik after the mark Manifested? --An Adventuring party finds an artifact that is the key to great riches and power. Through months of arcane study and lore they discover that the artifact can only be activated by an elf or half-elf that wields the 13th Mark. They must research into the mark, and might stumble upon The Blood of Vol and maybe even the truth. Could a Wish spell return Vol to live from Lichdom and reactivate the mark? --Vol had a twin sister. A very very rare thing for Elves. Her sister was also blessed with the mark. Her sister, born normally, not a half dragon, was also hidden away in the destruction of Vol. Her mark hidden and sealed by magic. Centuries later her decendant gives birth to a new pair of elven twins. Both of which bear the Mark of Death! --Some wizards in the Arcane Congress belive that the Dragonmarks are a result of eberron shards and belive that with the proper magical formulae and spells they can create, or ressurect a dragonmark. If so, will destroying the mark or dispelling it heal the mournland and dispell the grey mist? watcha think? anyone have more?
