DragonMech Cover Art and Gallery

Hi everyone,

The art for DragonMech is starting to roll in, and it's awesome! For those of you who don't know, DragonMech is a world of medieval fantasy mechs scheduled for release in July. We've put up an official image gallery on the Goodman Games web site. You can find it here:

Just to get your blood boiling, I've attached the final cover art here. Awesome, huh?

Those images look awesome!
Will the book be full color (please say yes!)?

But comeone, this doesn't look anything like 'medieval'...

I have to say, I'm a complete convert! That art looks fantastic, and is a really good way to give us a sneak peek at the setting background. This is going onto my wishlist straight away! And I don't even like mech games!

Glad y'all like the art! DragonMech is slated to be a B/W book, but I've been showing the White Wolf guys all the pretty pictures and saying, "Come on! Color! COLOR!" We'll see how far I get... ;)

Not to belabor the obvious...

...but I take it you guys checked with the owners of the word "Mech?" Mongoose should be the only ones to make a last-minute name change...

Then again, they're the ones with the "war machones." (Printed right on the spine of "War Machines of 2089," even.)

I would actually bet money that 'mech' is now a sufficiently mainstream corruption of the Japanese term "mecha" (indicating machinery with impliccations of a vehicle) to by unsuitable for use as a trademark. And holding copyright on it? Pphht! It's language, not a brand name.

'Battlemech' could probably still hold water, and I'd look to Wizkids on that front.

Just to be sure, I ran the word through the USPTO trademark search engine.

The closest live trademark to that word is 'Mech owned by FASA.

So, without the apostrophe, like Morgenstern stated, it's language.
