dragonskull shield?

I'm running a forgotten Realms campaign with pathfinder. I'm using tiamat spawns and in the next session I'll use some bluespawn Godslayers. They have a weird shield that Says "dragonskull" heavy shield.
I have no idea what the "dragonskull" does. can somebody please tell me if that is something mechanic or just cosmetic?
Thanks for your time and help.

Could the reference be something to do with Dragonskull Companion Spirits? They're in Dragon Magic. Included in the list of magic items is a Dragonskull helm and something called a Shield of the Winged Crusade.

thanks for your reply. I'll check that. I don't have that book. so I have no idea what are you taking about.

The Spawn of Tiamat were included in the Monster Manual IV. The bluespawn godslayer's 'dragonskull shield' is cosmetic; they have a shield that is made out of the skull of a dragon. There isn't anything in the writeup that states their shields have any special properties, it's just a heavy shield.

Here's a pic of the mini; it's very close to the picture from the book.

Thanks a lot. I have some spawns of tiamat, that's why I'm planning to use them. I have this particular mini too. I wasn't sure about the shield. Now I'm sure it's just a normal shield.

This is how you can be certain it's just a normal heavy shield. Look at the relevant line of the stat block and notice the formatting which I have copied precisely:

Possessions +2 bastard sword, heavy dragonskull shield

The +2 bastard sword is in italics. Why? Because that is what signifies it is a magic item. The heavy dragonskull shield is not in italics. Why? Because that is what signifies it is NOT a magic item. It really is as simple as that.
