[Dragonstar] Gravity, ECL, CR and Stats

Ok, the Galaxy Guide has rules for handling PC's in different gravity levels. Cool. But all of these rules assume that the effected character is from a standard (1g) gravity planet. What if that isn't true? What if they are from a Heavy or Extreme gravity planet? Or from an Oort Cloud type environment? Within that setting the standard D&D
stats, bonuses and penalties would apply. But what happens if the character enters another gravity field? How do you apply stat bonuses or penalties to them? Would an Extreme gravity Dwarf suddenly become Superman in a standard gravity setting? How would you figure the ECL or CR for such creatures? How do you balance character creation, whether PC
or NPC? Or am I thinking about this way too much?

I can see a race of Extreme gravity Dwarves mining metal heavy mountains. Though the mountains would be mighty low...

Actually, Heavy Gravity Creature should probably be a template with an ECL. I'll bring this up on the DS yahoo group, cause I thinks it's a good idea. Heavy Gravity Dwarves, Heavy Gravity humans, Heavy Gravity giant were-apes...

Actually, for game mechanics, you should be able to simply 'shift the columns' to reflect the variant gravities as a quick fix.

I think shifting the table coloums will do the job here. Be aware that a High-Gravity Dwarf will suffer great penalties to Dex, but also gain similar bonus to Strength, so it will probably even out.

The Standard Dragonstar seems to assume that most of the standard races lives on planets in the 1g category, and none of the races had adapted to a High - G world or a Low - G world.

Yeah, making templates for it would be a good idea.

IMHO, it would be something like +4 STR, +2 Dex, +4 Con, maybe bumping up the hitdice by one size, like the half-dragon. ECL +2 or so.

And FWIW, Kevin Sorbo's character on Andromeda may or may not be from a high gravity world. It's mentioned that his mother is.
