I absolutely adore Dragonstar. D&D in space with magic and dragons, its my ideal setting. I tried to run it once, but the group fell apart before I could. My old DM always teased me by saying he would love to run a game of it sometime, but he never did :( I'd still love to playa campaign. For my own game I had planned to cross Call of Cthulhu into it, and have the Dragon Empire run across a planet in the Outlands that was ruled by a resident Great Old One. And then the Unification Church would find out that the "deitypes" they worshipped werent true gos, nd all the gods the Church had misplaced had melded into a blasphemous obscenity, and become a new Outer God, that was bent on destrying the Empire. And then the InterPlanar Empire of Orcus would invade from another galaxy, with insane wizards riding byakhee through space, giant undead space whales carrying demon cyborg troops, and and giant undead flesh/iron golem mecha war machines. I also had planned to use the mecha rules from D20 Future (just imagine mecha figting against Pit Fiends!), and have a special unit of Epic level war-sorcerers that flew in formation through space using using only magic, and could take down capital ships by themselves. I always imagined that with the size of the Empire and its technical resources that the higher ups and power players would be in the 50 level range. Ahh, and now, just imagine Duskblades in powerarmor. I always loved the Dragonstar take on Paladins, and the Special Outlands Army Recon. That was just so cool. I wanted to give Paladins special mecha motorcycles, like Cyclone Armor, that bonded with them since they lost thier mounts. Ahhh, what dreams I had... Dragonstar+Mecha Crusade+D20 Call of Cthulhu=FUN FUN FUN!!
