Back in the 80s, there were Dragonlance RPGs, computer games, calendars, novels, etc, and the look for the characters was consistent throughout. The DL art team even went so far as to create new looks for Krynn's dragons, so that you'd know it was a Krynn dragon, not a generic dragon.
