It pretty much ignores you until you try carving it up or shoving stuffing up its poopet.</p><p>Dread turkeys are rarely encountered throughout the bulk of the year, most of the time supplanted by their smaller, less threatening cousins the Ubiquitous Chickens. </p><p>Adventurers are likely to find themselves face to face with one of these nightmares, particularly after having witnessed an annual procession of massive, tethered floating golems. The exact relationship of these two monstrous encounters is still unclear.</p><p>Combat</p><p>Dread turkeys, like other avian predators, possess physical attacks in the forms of pecks and claws. However , it is the more indirect effects these creatures have on people that are to be feared most.</p><p>Aura of Tryptophan (Ex): A dread turkey is surrounded at all times by a powerful energy zone that saps the strength from all creatures that encounter it. Any living creature that comes within a 20’ of the bird becomes deeply drowsy after four rounds, as if affected by a slow spell. Will negates this effect. However, if a creature has imbibed any alcohol within three hours of the encounter (before or after) or if they sit for even a second on a couch or sofa, they lose their saving throw and are instead immediately effected as if under a sleep spell, no save.</p><p>Family Discord (Su): Within two rounds of encountering a dread turkey, adventurers, particularly those related to each other, experience a compulsion to argue with one another over the slightest insult, whether real or imagined, even one that occurred years ago. Will negates the effect, but anyone who is under the effects of alcohol is immediately effected, no save allowed. In fact, that individual will most likely start the arguing. Tensions will continue to mount while one member tries to restore calm. Then Uncle Fred makes an inappropriate comment to your girlfriend and all hell breaks loose. </p><p>This effect continues until Emotion (friendship) is cast, or until one of the adventurers storms off, declaring they will just have to adventure by themselves at their own damn house next year, causing you mother to cry.</p><p>Pantaloon discomfort (Ex): Anyone encountering a dread turkey must make a constitution save within three rounds or suffer constriction attacks from their own pants, dealing 1d4 points of subdual damage.. The constriction will continue to inflict 1 point of additional subdual damage each round until the pants are undone. Undoing pants will instantly negate the effect of the constriction, and all subdual damage will be restored.
