What are you willing to do for a wish? I've recently launched a new Kickstarter RPG adventure called Dream of the Djinn. The game is already functionally complete; the Kickstarter is mainly to cover the printing costs. You can find the official campaign here: Campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kim-larking/dream-of-the-djinn-tabletop-rpg-adventure/ Dream of the Djinn Players: 3 - 5 Length: 12 - 15 hours (or 3 - 5 sessions) A powerful djinn has arrived in town offering a free wish to anyone who can complete her challenge. Can you survive to claim your reward? Inspired by roguelike adventure games and exploratory puzzle-solving, Dream of the Djinn is a deadly dungeon crawl full of things that will kill you, things that will only mostly kill you, and things you'll wish had killed you. Things like death traps, time travel, paranoid neuroticism, cannibalism, and small children. Surviving the 36-room gauntlet will require caution, strategy and most of all creativity - but there are always multiple ways to overcome an obstacle. Some of the things you may come across include: - A floor made of exploding eyes - An inter-dimensional monk whose gifts come at a price - An ordinary, yet suspicious, chair - Triggered curses - Djinn, demons, deities, and other creatures that may or may not begin with D - Illusions and secret passages - Five powerful artifacts - Fun with Potions™ What distinguishes Dream of the Djinn from the crowd is its emphasis on wild, surreal and wacky situations and focus on puzzle-solving. Well, that and the death traps. Combat is kept to a minimum and tends to make up part of a puzzle when it does occur. As you get closer to your goal, you'll also uncover more of the story behind the wish on offer, and run into others who have their own motives for being involved. To find out more, check out the official campaign page! You can get the whole adventure - book and map - as digital PDFs for as little as an AUD $25 pledge or the physical 90-page game book for $40 plus shipping. If you're based in the US, the current exchange rate is also in your favour. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kim-larking/dream-of-the-djinn-tabletop-rpg-adventure/ The campaign launched on 8 October and is due to finish on Saturday Nov 7 2015 at 11:44 AM AWST. May your adventures be full of surprises! - Kim
