That kind of thing always bothered me, which is why I never use third party products. Too many different versions of the same idea, and often they were conflicting and unbalanced. I also don't like creating or modifing rules, cuz as players me and my group just don't have a wide enough perspective to keep things balanced and avoid unforeseen complications down the road.
