Death is a natural part of the cycle of nature. So a druid circle concentrating on forces of death and decay, to cull where life as grown out of balance or become somehow twisted or harmful to other living creatures around it. I can also see fighting the undead to be on the list of such druids. I suspect that that the circle of twilight was intended to be more about death and decay, but then the idea stuck that there could be dealing with undead in, but this happened after the mechanics were in place and after that the flavor text was altered to be more about hunting the undead and probably so will be the subclass I also think there is another reason why the flavor text was turned more destroying undead specific and why there might be already planned some changes ito the subclass. WoTC is really squemish about evil, grim, dark or questionable divine characters and tries to sort of hide them away or not deal with them, while they have no issue with non-divine classes. That's the reason why death cleric and oathbreaker were hidden away into the DMG and made "optional." And of course then there is the usual D&D-s classic death=evil attitude... Wizards avoiding darker divine aspects will also being the reason why we will not see a full blighter druid. The death cleric and oathbreaker were given because they were popular archetypes and enemy options. Blighter on the other hand is something that goes somewhat even more against its parent classes identity that the oathbreaker. As i said in the beginning, i want to see that grim defender of nature and balance, who reaps too abundant or twisted life, deals harshy with nature's enemies and also kicks some undead a** and i hope it will still come. But what are your thoughts about death oriented druids, would this option if acting like i described be too questinable or against the concept of the druid class? And should there be a full twisted blighter class for people who want something like that.
