I tried to watch Gundam Seed, honest I did. But it's just so....done before. And before that. And that. If it was at least a new take on the concept, I might be down with it...but it seems to just be a soulless rehash, to me.

Too true. I really love most Gundam series' but this was just too much. I watched a total of two episodes then gave up. This one just did not do it for me. :\

I'm waiting for the new updated Fist of the North Star which willl be releasedd by ADV Films. Go to thier website and they will have a trailer for the new version.

Ok so GANTZ is a supernatural twist on the Prisoner, huh!?Anime
A twist on the Prisoner? Yes. Supernatural? No.

Everything that occurs in the show/manga is technologically based. There's a good deal of metaphysical introspection that occurs, though. One of the core characters, Kei (the girl, not the guy) has some serious issues to resolve when she discovers that, unlike the others, she isn't DEAD.

Gantz, you see, is sloppy, and apparently grabbed her from the bathtub, where she'd commited suicide by slashing her wrists...but someone found her and got her to the hospital in time to save her life. You can imagine her suprise after returning home to hear her mother on the phone, thinking she's her sister, telling her that she's going to be all right.

As for the New Fist of the Northstar, I'll say this: If you enjoyed the series, you'll find nothing to disappoint you, here. We've got Kenshiro, oppressed people, a desperate race for time, noble sacrifical lambs, separated brothers and a whole lotta ass-whuppin. I've seen two of the three chapters, and if there are no suprises, there aren't any disappointments, either. :)
