[DSC-PR] Treasures of the Underhalls nearly complete

First Post
Dragon Scale Counters (DSC) would like to announce that, despite several setbacks and the ongoing war to balance our daily lives with our game publishing addiction, we will soon release our first pdf publication. Treasures of the Underhalls: An Anthology of Dwarven Magic is nearly complete. We're taking the time to do a few more passes with the red pen and to finalize the cover art. We expect to finish it in June.

The book is an anthology of Dwarven magic items and uses VShane's Artifacts of the Arcane, Volume 2 for illustration. It features a variety of magic items from weapons to armor, from wands to wonderous items, each of which is tied in some way to the Dwarves beneath the earth. There are 72 magic items in all and several new feats and common items as well. The rich history of each item provides any DM with dozens of new plot hook ideas and the items themselves are a great and novel way to reward any Dwarven hero.

Treasures of the Underhalls also features our own spin and revision of the rune systems released as open game content from other publishers last year. With this mechanism in place you will be able to give inexperienced heroes access to magic weapons that are balanced with their own needs and add great flavor to the campaign. Lastly, the book offers up a whole new Dwarven alphabet and rudimentary language system that is completely Open Game Content! The pdf includes tif files of each of the letters of the alphabet so any publisher or hobbiest can include them in their own works.

We're pleased with the way this book developed and we look forward to offering it to the community.

Thanks for confirming what I've suspected for the last 18 months... I AM NOT ALONE... lol.

We almost decided to wait on this pdf until the SRD for 3.5 came out (since we'd slipped so far behind from when we thought we'd release it). Ultimately though we just couldnt wait any more. We're envisioning a patch once the rules come out and we get our hands around them. Sure wish I could have gotten an early copy....
