Dungeon 114? Sold OUT! In fact - all the backissues too!

The recent makeover with Dungeon 114 must have had an effect.

I went to my FLGS in Toronto, Hairy Tarantula on Yonge St. looking for #114.

All gone. So was #113. #112 etc. The only copy left was a lone copy of #108.

Staff at the store mentioned they were blown away at the response Dungeon #114 had.

The store clerk told me today. "We usually have those things *forever* The past week, people were trooping in, like 5 a day to buy Dungeon. It was weird."

They bought all of the new ones - and then proceeded to buy *all* the back-issues too.

One copy of #108 on the shelf. That's it. And they usually have a large selection of past issue Dungeon mags in the store. Not anymore.

There were 5 other back issues in the store - nearly all pre-3.0 copies, in plastic in the back storeroom. (You had to ask to see those ones).

The HairyT is one of Toronto's main RPG shops. If they have sold out of Dungeon #114 and the splash effect was to sell out all the older copies as well - then Erik and Paizo should be mighty pleased if that experience is repeated elsewhere.

Now - to find a copy of #114 somewhere... *sigh*

Poor issue #108, all alone, with no other issues to keep it company. What ever will the Iron Satyr do???

Some of it may have to do with the Living Greyhawk adventure in Dungeon 114. Many RPGA members who play Living Greyhawk would probably buy it for that reason alone. (I know that's why I bought it.)

hey, i got my issue on time this month. in fact, i got it saturday. first time since before xmas.

as far as i'm concerned that is a major improvement with Dungeon.

The Paizo site says it goes on newstands Aug 10. That's when I planned to get it. How can it already be sold out? What gives?!

I was wondering exactly the same thing. It's not supposed to be out yet. And I'm another Torontonian, too.

That's what I thought as well. Clerk told me it was #114 though.

He could be wrong. It's not like they had a copy there for me to see.

Does the hobby trade get these things before the newstands do? I have noticed, for example, the FLGS has it on the rack 2-3 weeks before Indigo (Chapters) has it here in Toronto.

Got D#114 here last week *shrug* Guess they were trying to make it DEFINATELY on time!

Got mine in the mail this past Monday. Must say it is the best Dungeon I have read in years. I liked a lot of the Polyhedron stuff, but I bought this mag for D&D adventure goodness. Looks like that is what we are finally being given again, exclusively. If this issue is the indication of things to come, and it is supposed to be, I am not going to regret my new 3 year subscription.
