That is indeed an awesome cover. It is the sort of thing fans have been asking for for a long time. It actually depicts characters engaged in action and adventure, rather than just posing for the camera. Looks like there's a drow, a tiefling, and somethin' else.

So, what's in this Diamond Lake "overview" exactly, if not an actual adventure?

Man, another Eberron adventure. That's a turn-off. I automatically start thinking of bullet trains and robots.

It's an expose of the location. It usually covers things like the history, current sketch, local NPC's, maybe even a new monster or two, etc. They're always a companion article to another adventure which takes place in that same location. They did this for the Isle of Dread back in Dungeon #114.
