Dungeon & Erik Mona Questions. Thanks.

I've played a Greyhawk campaign for 15 years now and never ever bought Dungeon magazine. I've either created my own stuff or used published material from sourcebooks.

Until now . . .

I've noticed Dungeon magazine is starting to look really attractive to the Greyhawker. There is lots of interesting Greyhawk lore within plus the 4-part map series of the Flanaess is coming out.

Anyway, I was thinking of investing in Dungeon and some of the recent back-issues but here's my question:

1) In which issue of Dungeon was the Living Greyhawk Journal incorporated?

2) Which issue was the first issue for Erik Mona as editor (because I know he's a devout GH fan)?

3) With Erik taking over as editor for Dragon as well as Dungeon, what will happen to the Living Greyhawk Journal? Will this go over to Dragon? Maybe this feature of Dungeon has already been discontinued?

Thanks.

Ditto.

Well actually 24 years for me. Just sent in my check for a subscription.

I think Living Greyhawk Journal is dead. I also believe Erik is a very powerful cleric of Pelor who has direct access to resurection spells .......

I think maybe 98?

My first issue as editor of the Polyhedron side was #90. My first issue as editor of the whole thing was #103.

The Journal is currently on hiatus, but Greyhawk fans will find a lot to love in Dragon and Dungeon during my tenure.

My index of Greyhawk adventures in Dungeon should help you out (I need to add several recent issues to it, but it's a good start):

Erik's correct, as usual---issue 98 is the first Dungeon/Poly/LGJ issue.

Now.... let's get that "Monsters of Mystara" article going that's mentioned in the response to my letter in the latest Dungeon.... I see the Lupins were done, but how about updated versions of Bruce Heard's articles with the various Lupin and Rakasta breeds? That was frelling awesome! :D

Thanks
Chris

I have a fondness for "Mystara" in its purest form, dating back to the "Morgan Ironwolf" era of the Basic D&D game. For that reason, I tip my hat to the setting and admire its tenacious fans, but I'm not an expert in Mystara and view it as essentially a curiosity.

The ever-able Mike McArtor, esteemed assistant editor of Dragon, however, is a huge Mystara fan, and is to be given full credit for just about every Mystara mention in the magazine's recent past. He is a real advocate for it, which is why I asked him to write up a "Winning Races" article on the diabolus, a race I'd always found interesting (if a bit corny around the edges) from the old Mystara MC Appendix. We're just about to send that article to press, and I think it's a keeper.

The GH content of Dungeon has been sweet whilst not making adventures difficult to adapt to other worlds (such as my CONAN campaign) ;)
