why does it have to be so upscale? I've been w/ Dungeon since issue #1 & only recently let my subscription die. I think the publishers are so fixated on producing a slick, full color magazine (ie expensive to produce) that they've missed the point. Adding Poly to the mag is justed wasted space for me. Dungeon was a great resource in the days before OGL & d20. For a busy DM such as myself, I could easily modfy at least one adventure/issue FMC. Paizo seems utterly convinced that what they're providing is a "great deal" compared to what Necromancer, Privateer & Green Ronin as well as the other top shelf independents are producing. Frankly I don't agree. I've ran a couple of the d20 adventures from Dungeon, but I find I get much more value from the independent d20 companies now. Paizo should take a look at the Demons & Devil module from Necromancer & the upcoming products along the same line, as a viable model for Dungeon. Color on the cover, great adventures w/ decent B&W illos, good maps will be fine. Who says it has to be a magazine? Jack the price up to 10.00 or more if need be, go low tech if that's what it takes and COMPETE w/ the independent adventure providers. They need to seriously re-think their business model & find out what DMs need & will buy. Clearly Poly isn't a part of that. YMMV...
