Dungeon Mapping Program?

I'm looking for a simple program that would let me easily create a dungeon. I don't need a world builder or anything so complex. What would be nice is a simple tile-based program. Any suggestions?

I've tried to find one, but never found a good one. They all try to either do too much or do too little. I'll wait hopefully with you, and hope things have changed.

Dungeoncrafter is a simple tile-based program, however it's based on square tiles, making structures with anything other than 90 or 45 degree angles a bit of a hassle.

The other one I'd suggest is Autorealm, which allows you to draw lines (including fractal and freehand lines), connect them into shapes, and treat those shapes and lines as objects which you can manipulate. It is a bit more involved than just a tile program, but the results are better if you're doing something natural like a cave complex, or something with oddly shaped structures like a ruined city.

Both are free - I suggest googling them up.

If you already have a map. Mapster will allow you to cover it with designated areas, and then reveal them as the PC's progress via password. You'll need a computer for the players to look at, but it's very convienient, and great for those pesky, anti-mapping group. The grid and pencil is a dying art, I'm afraid.

I used Interactive Dungeon 1.0 in some of my sessions last year - simple, but my players loved it! :)

I didn't even know it had been upgraded to 2.0 until this thread popped up and I remembered it and looked it up.

Let me know how it goes, Merak. It's a little on the simplistic side (at least it was), but it knows exactly what it wants to do and does it pretty well - but doesn't try to do anything else at all. I used a "DM Screen" program and Jamis Buck's generators for all my other stuff.

Plus, it's free.

Then again, that simplicity is exactly why I liked it. :)
