Message: <blockquote data-quote="Emerikol" data-source="post: 6309550" data-attributes="member: 6698278">While I get where you are going I think you are overly restricting the definition of story.  Any series of events is a story.  If I can tell you what happened yesterday that is a story.  It may be a lousy story but it's a story.  So all D&D games lead to some sort of story.  Hopefully a memorable one.  Even in my style which is about as far as you can get from a story game, I still have stories that result.  Anytime you are analyzing playstyles I believe you have to ask the question - what is the payoff?  In story games, the payoff is the story.  It's not in my playstyle.  The payoff for the players is achieving their goal against great opposition which they themselves were part of overcoming.</blockquote>
