[Dungeon] Subscription Issues

WizarDru

Adventurer
Johnny, Erik or any of the Paizo folk: could you check on the status of my Dungeon account? My check early in February, and I never saw the current issue on my doorstep. I've sent e-mails to the recommended e-mail location on Paizo's site, with no response.

I want to renew my Dragon subscription shortly, but I have no intention of doing so if I can't actually GET the magazine. I'm not asking for sudden, dramatic action - just someone to have the matter investigated.

Thanks,

Dru.

Keep us posted as I to am trying to get a reply from dragon on my dragon and dungeon subscriptions.

It took me almost two weeks to get a response when I sent in a change of address request via the web page. It could be that the delay was caused by me not having the subscription number for the Dungeon subscription...but I never did get a confirmation back for the Dragon change. It's coming to the correct address, so I'm hoping that means it took :D but still...

I cancelled both my Dragon and my Dungeon subscriptions two days ago due to the ongoing problems I've been having over the last few months. My Dungeon (which should have started two issues ago) has never shown up. My Dragon was doubled (and I recieved a renewal notice on a third account number) in January. And I haven't recieved an issue since February. Maybe I'll resubscribe in a couple of months after all my information has a chance to properly clear the Paizo system to get the nice price benefit (and the new screen in June), but only if the "Paizo, what the *#$@ is going on with my subscription" threads start going away by then.

I really wonder if Mr. Wilson forgot to bring along any of the support staff when he carved the magazine staff out of Wizards to start Paizo. The low-level organizational stuff (like actually getting the magazine shipped, or having a website that's of some use to someone) seems to be being bungled pretty badly. I'm pretty sure that the customer service line is being outsourced to a call centre in Atlanta (at least, that's the impression that the accent and distresing lack of recognition in the voices of the people on the other end when I say "Dragon subscription" or "Dungeon subscription".)

I had many issues getting my gift subscription started. Thanks to Pierce Waters - the circ director at Paizo I got them resolved. I'd recommend contacting him. His email is pw@paizopublishing.com

I will say this: I don't think the folks at Paizo have anything to do with any issues you might have with your subscription. I think their fulfillment company is less than satisfactory - and they very well may be stuck with them under a previously signed contract under Hasbro. My dealings with the fulfillment company were not too good - but Pierce really set things straight. Contact him and I bet he'll be able to help.

Update on Dungeon I sent out an email request on 3 28 asking when my subscription would run out and got a response today saying when. So at least for dungeon they seem to promptly be responding to emails still waiting to hear from dragon

I re-subbed to Dragon at the end of December through Borders.com (using a gift card).

A couple of weeks ago I still had not seen my first issue, and emailed paizo. I recieved a response from them within 2 days.

I'm generally pretty hard on the Dung/Poly and Dragon Mags and staff here on these boards so I wanted to post to say I thought the CS seemed pretty good in my experience (and also to show I'm not a complete and total Bast@#$ :D )

Michelle from Dungeon Magazine is looking into it, and responded to me this afternoon. I'm going to fax her information about the cashed check, and hope they can track it down. If not, I'll send an e-mail to Pierce, as mentioned above.

The Dragon & Dungeon people seem to be having a lot of problems with their fulfillment house. If you have the Search Function, you might scan the boards for questions about Dragon subscriptions - I remember someone recently detailing their experiences and giving the contact info of people they found helpful.

For me, my GF ordered a Dragon subscription and was hoping that the first issue would show up in time to be a Christmas present for me. The first issue actually showed up in February, which means they are operating around a 10-12 week fulfillment schedule? I suppose it would depend on how well your timing synchs up with their monthly deliveries.
