I'm curious to know what some of you think regarding Turbine Entertainment's foray into official D&D online gaming.
You can check out their press release here.
Like most people, I also acknowledge that there is no CRPG substitute for a good PnP game among friends. I started playing D&D back in the mid-late 1970s.
I've never played any MMORPG before, because none of them have interested me. But with the success and quality Turbine has had with their Asheron's Call 1 & 2 games, and because it's being licensed from WotC, I have relatively high hopes for their official D&DO game.
Since that game isn't slated to come out until sometime in 2005, I suspect that it will use the 3.5 Edition rule set.
Side Note: I'd posted a help wanted ad for a WebMaster in the Open Calls & Job Vacancies forum.
