Just wrapped on it; really pleasant read. I've read Dawson's Star Wars work and enjoyed that too, but this felt lighter than her usual stuff. Which is odd, given the setting. But I'd definitely read a sequel, and it's not a bad way to while away a couple of hours. I enjoyed the interparty dynamics and felt the characters had some interesting angles to them. It feels like these are characters I've definitely been in a party with. I kind of wish they had been at each other's throats a bit more, but I do feel like this is for a bit of a younger audience, and I do like the way the characters resolve their tension. I think my biggest complaint is that I feel like Dawson doesn't really go hard in the paint enough with regards to the setting which I feel is odd, because typically I feel like that's one of her greatest strengths. Not to say that there aren't some shocking elements, but I kind of wish she had pushed harder into it. I wonder if the book might have been better suited to be set in the Forgotten Realms like the Fallback book. I also feel we kind of rush towards the ending. But I enjoyed my time with it, and had fun.
