The new beer is the first in an extended partnership between New Holland and Hasbro.

New Holland Brewing Co. is putting out a new D&D-themed beer. Launching later this month, the Dungeons & Dragons Coconut Rum Barrel Reserve is a new beer that's inspired by the Dragon Turtle. This is a limited-edition release that will be released online, at select retailers, and direct from New Holland Brewing starting in "late August." The label features an illustration of the dragon turtle, along with a reference to the Sea of Swords.

What's more - New Holland and Hasbro have reached an extended agreement, with more releases coming later this fall. The two companies previously teamed up for a limited edition version of New Holland's popular Dragon's Milk stout to celebrate D&D's 50th anniversary. Also released was an Origin Mead Cask Bourbon Whiskey, which was also a limited release.

Hasbro has teamed up with various manufacturers and brands to produce various D&D-themed goods, ranging from a popular D&D LEGO set to a full-blown D&D pinball machine. While many of these were released in conjunction with D&D's 50th anniversary, it's clear that the cross-promotion will continue for the foreseeable future.

I managed to score a bottle of the first New Holland/D&D beer, but it's stored for a "special" occasion. I wasn't able to grab the bourbon; it was gone by the time I ordered (and it was within seconds of getting the "on sale now" email).

Rum-barrel beers, especially coconut-rum-barrel beers, are not usually for me, so.I won't be seeking this one out. I wasn't super impressed with the merch last time around,.either. i just said to a friend, "If I'm in Holland, Michigan, I might buy a shirt or hat, but online I'll probably pass." Like @Ralif Redhammer, I do dig the label.

That said, and I think I said elsewhere, New Holland makes solid beers and spirits, so I encourage anyone who hasn't tried their wares to give it a go if the price and/or the style of beer are right for you.
