Dungeons of Dread / S-series Bestiary

It's already up.

Random praise: It has zero-level and leveled NPCs (with XP values that can hopefully be transposed)
Random criticism: Efreeti, Marid, and Dao, but no Djinni as far as I can see.
Actual criticism: Lots of monsters reference spells that don't exist.

I'm compiling a monster index for D&DN--it's annoying that they're all in different documents.

For the confused, the bestiary file has NOT changed but there is an additional folder in the "Adventures & Pregens" folder with a seperate PDF file for each of the adventures.

Yeah, it's annoying that they didn't add them to the master file. But it's handy they included all the monsters and reprinted some in the separate files.

This is a cool little update, both for those running the classics and for people who could use some more monsters for their homebrews.

The only complaint I have so far is that it feels weird to have daily spell-like abilities and fighters (in White Plume Mountain) co-existing with Recharge. It seems like things could be streamlined.

Cheers!

So...I'm guessing a party of five facing Acererak would be a "tough" encounter if they are level 11?

(Demi-lich, two thousand five hundred something-something xp)

According to the XP value? Maybe.

In actual play? He has an at-will save-or-die, and a daily ability that makes everyone more vulnerable to his save-or-die. Don't worry, it's still pretty unfair. :)

Does anyone have the modules from Dungeons of Dread converted to 5E ? We really want to play them but if someone has already converted them to 5E it would be great to see those notes.

Tomb of Horrors was converted (to a playtest version of the rules) in Dungeon issue 213. I'm not sure where they've moved the file, but it was behind the subscription wall.
